The speedy winger picked up the injury after taking a couple of hefty tackles in our Worthington Cup clash at Burnley in November.
He made a swift return at Arsenal but lasted only 45 minutes at Highbury and, after tweaking the injury in training, opted to rest and get the problem rectified.
Now he's running again and reported this week: "It's getting there, I'm feeling much better and hopefully I'll be training in the next week or so.
"It's hard because there are no reserve games until early January but hopefully I'll be back by then. It's just been a case of resting it.
"I got a couple of whacks up at Burnley and I tried perhaps to come back too early. I went over on it again in training and I just felt I wanted to get it right. I wanted it to settle down and get it right."
Matthew Etherington has targeted a return to action for the reserves in January as he steps up his recovery from an ankle problem.
