Stories circulated saying Matty was unhappy playing second-fiddle to Christian Ziege and was going to assess his options in the summer.
The left-midfielder confirmed on Thursday that the reports are very far from the truth.
"They are not things I've said - I've been stitched up to put it lightly," insisted Matt. There is nothing I can do about that.
"All I said was that I was frustrated about not playing and that was about the height of it. I'm the same as any other player, you are just frustrated when you don't play.
"That's about the only thing I've ever said. I've just said I've got to fight for my place to get in the team. No different to anyone else."
Comments on his prospects being linked to the length of Ziege's contract are also totally dismissed.
"Where they've got all that stuff from I don't know. I don't know where that's come from to be honest with you. Like I say, I've been stitched up a little bit."
Matt is more than happy for us to put the record straight for Spurs fans.
"Without a shadow of a doubt. I'd love for you to put it right because I didn't say it, simple as that."
Matthew Etherington has scotched reports suggesting he is considering his future at the club that have emerged over the last few days.
