Matchday travel disruption

Posted on 17 April 2009  - 12:00

As many fans will know, we have experienced intermittent disruption this season to rail services, due to the ongoing engineering works on the Victoria Line. LUL have assured us that, when completed, these works will deliver the ability to run new, faster and higher capacity trains from later this year, finally ending the disruption our supporters have often faced and delivering major improvements to services.

Matchday travel disruption

As many fans will know, we have experienced intermittent disruption this season to rail services, due to the ongoing engineering works on the Victoria Line. LUL have assured us that, when completed, these works will deliver the ability to run new, faster and higher capacity trains from later this year, finally ending the disruption our supporters have often faced and delivering major improvements to services.

We are continuing to work closely with Transport for London, London Underground and National Express East Anglia (NEEA) to co-ordinate around the fixture list where possible, but remain restricted by scheduled essential works and late fixture date changes. We shall keep fans updated as these works progress.

Travel Update - Newcastle United

Due to engineering works on both the Victoria Line and on National Express East Anglia, there will be considerable disruption for some fans travelling to the game against Newcastle this Sunday, April 19. Fans are encouraged to plan their journey prior to travelling to the Stadium and consider alternative available travel options.

See below for details of affected routes and for replacement services on Sunday, April 19.

National Express East Anglia

Due to engineering works, there will be replacement buses between Stansted Airport/Bishops Stortford and Waltham Cross, and between Hertford East and Enfield Town until approx 13.00.

Therefore before the game there will only be a limited service to Northumberland Park from the North.

Passengers from London should travel via White Hart Lane.

After the game, all services via Northumberland Park will be eight carriages for approximately two hours.

Services to/from White Hart Lane will run to an improved frequency and will be formed by eight carriages approximately three hours before and two hours after the game.

If you would like to contact National Express, please call 0845 600 7245 or write to National Express, Customer Relations, Grosvenor House, 112-114 Prince of Wales Road, Norwich, NR1 1NS.

Victoria Line

The entire Victoria Line will be closed on Sunday, April 19 as London Underground continues their full upgrade of the line as part of a multi-billion pound investment programme.

Fans attending our home match that day are encouraged to travel by tube or train to Liverpool Street and catch the frequent National Express services from there to White Hart Lane.

Please note, London Underground tickets will be accepted on National Express services between Liverpool Street to Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale only, therefore fans travelling any further than this (i.e. White Hart Lane and Northumberland Park) will require a valid National Express ticket.

Alternatively, fans can interchange from the Piccadilly Line at Finsbury Park or Manor House rather than in Central London, and use the Rail Replacement Bus Service to Seven Sisters station.

Although more buses will be operating on this match day than normal this will be a limited service, so fans are encouraged to use National Express services were possible.

This Rail Replacement Bus Service will operate a northbound service from Bus Stop R at Finsbury Park station or Bus Stop D at Manor House station, and a southbound service from Bus Stop A at Seven Sisters station.

London Underground tickets will be accepted on the following scheduled bus services:

· 259 between Finsbury Park and Seven Sisters

· 279 between Manor House and Seven Sisters

· 230 between Walthamstow Central and Seven Sisters

· 259 between Finsbury Park and Seven Sisters
