Coach Jimmy Neighbour commented: "We were a bit concerned. You talk about Liverpool and they got a great result the week before and beat West Ham 3-0.
"I was a bit apprehensive about them coming here, thinking about the boys and hoping that they understood what's involved. I was absolutely delighted with them. Liverpool passed the ball well and we did as well.
"I'll be perfectly honest, we should have been 2-0 up at half-time. They had one good chance but, other than that we had two other great opportunities in the second half.
"We could have come out winning quite comfortably. It was an even game, no one was on top but we could have won it and it would have been a great feather in our cap."
Our under-17 side shared the spoils with Liverpool after a 0-0 draw.
