Blackburn Rovers U17s 3-0 Spurs

Jimmy Neighbour was very upbeat about this performance despite of the result in Lancashire.

After having an early penalty claim waved away and generally dominating possession, the boys went down to a goal just before half-time and two late goals as they pushed on.

Boss Jimmy explained: "I wasn't unhappy with the way we played. We should have had a penalty, blatant, and we had two or three opportunities without really looking like scoring.

"We weren't quite aggressive enough in our closing down at the back and we gave away two silly goals in the last 10 minutes.

"But I thought we played reasonably well. Phil Ifil did well, Warren McKenna was excellent and Nicky Eyre made a couple of good saves.

"The only thingI was disappointed about was our finishing. We got into one or two great positions without really testing their keeper. By the same token, they had three chances and snapped them all up."

Spurs U17s: Eyre, Ifil, Francis (Bartram, 75), McKenna, Hodges, Dobson, Hicks, Watson, Malcolm, Price, Jenkins. Unused: Lee, Forecast, Welsh.
