'Massive occasion' for Alan

Alan Hutton is buzzing at the prospect of coming up against an Argentina side led by the legendary Diego Maradona for Scotland tonight at Hampden Park.

Frequently referred to as one of the greatest players to have ever played the game, Maradona will take charge of his national team for the first time in this international friendly.

But although Alan admits he is looking forward to being part of such an occasion, he knows there is a job to do for George Burley's side.

However, the defender still took time to recognise Maradona's standing in the international game.

"It's a massive occasion," said Alan. "We have looked up to people like Maradona, and it's going to be great to be in the company of him and get to meet him.

"You still see him as a hero. He has done everything in the game. Everyone looks up to him, even though there is an age gap. Maradona is a legend for the Argentinian people.

"But everybody wants to play against teams like Argentina. They are a top nation, and I want to be involved. It's going to be a massive game.

"If I get a chance, I hope I can take my skills to them. I hope I can show them what I can do."

Alan and Ossie

And who better to speak about the great Diego Maradona than our very own Argentinian legend Ossie Ardiles.

He popped down to Spurs Lodge recently to speak to us about his former international team-mate, as well as his greatest Spurs memories.
