Dimitar Berbatov's sweet volley and classic header sandwiched a clinical strike from Robbie Keane as we came from a goal behind to make it two wins in two to top Group B.
We more than shaded the first half - Jermaine Jenas grazed the post, Hossam Ghaly missed in front of goal - and then dominated after the break with long spells of possession and plenty of goalscoring opportunites created. Once Robbie buried the second goal from Dimitar's assist, there was only going to be one winner.
"Their goal was disappointing and we didn't play particularly well in the first half," reflected Martin. "Although we had chances for Robbie, Ghaly and JJ, it was not easy for find the forward players and there wasn't the link-up between the midfield and forwards.
"But the second half was probably the best this season. We had flank play, the build-up was good, we kept possession, moved the ball around and we created chances.
"We could have scored five or six goals and that wasn't easy because Club Brugge dropped off deep.
"There were some very good performance out there, Lennon was a delight to watch and if Berbatov was good against Besiktas, he was better this time, but I don't want to pick out individuals.
"Overall I'm a very happy man."
Martin Jol hailed our second half performance as the best this season after the 3-1 victory over Club Brugge in the UEFA Cup on Thursday night.
