I am very disappointed with our elimination from the Carling Cup to Liverpool. It could have been a perfect night for us.
In the first half we should easily have scored two or three goals and didn't do that. You know a young and ambitious Liverpool side were looking for a counter attack to score, but they didn't get anything and in that respect we did well.
We had to wait too long for a goal so bought Jermain Defoe on to score a goal, then we had everything in our pocket. But we didn't because, unfortunately, Fredi Kanoute was penalised for a hand ball.
It cost us the game because a penalty shoot-out is always a lottery and we lost. We could have gone to the semi-finals and didn't so I am very disappointed.
We must get our heads up and bounce back, it is a cliche but it is the only thing we can do. I said after the game that we have a six-pointer on Saturday and we have to get a result from that game.
It is very difficult because we had a hard game on Sunday and here was 90 minutes plus extra time. It is hard work for us but we have to go on and tomorrow we will talk about it and on Saturday we will play again.
