I WAS TOLD after the game that we have completed our first league double over Newcastle United for 20 years. This is good, but it is not really important for me, the most important thing is the three points and to still be in the race for a top six or seven finish.
I think we are, it is difficult with the games we have ahead of us - like Liverpool and Arsenal - but you never know. If we play our away games like we did in the first half an hour here we can gain 12 or 13 points then we will see at the end of the season.
Our midfield played well, Carrick was pulling the strings, Brownie was pressurising, Davies did well and Andy Reid is getting better and better. That was good because the last home game against Manchester City was our third game in six days, we looked a bit different but still managed to get a win.
Against Newcastle we played well and that is what I want. It was difficult in the build-up and we have to improve on that, we have to dictate games and maybe make different decisions.
We didn't manage to really kill the game off again, it is getting a bit exciting and it was the case this time too. We didn't have control in the last 20 minutes, we dropped off and tried to get the ball to Fredi Kanoute too soon.
I think he played a bit too far out on the wing, we need him up front. All in all though, I am satisfied with the three points.
