I think the win over Portsmouth was a big one for us because we were a bit worried. We have had a couple of injuries and have not been at 100 per cent lately, mainly because of decisions going against us. I don't think we particularly had a bad spell and were maybe just a bit unfortunate.
It does cost you a bit of confidence as well so it was an unbelievably important game for us against Pompey.
We had two players make their debuts - Mido and Andy Reid - and I was happy Mido could play because he picked up an injury on Friday and had a late test. He gave us some power up front.
You can't ask for more than what he gave on his debut and that is what we wanted. Mido is a terrific player and he proved he will be a big asset to us.
Andy Reid started off well then had some problems with his marker and made the decision to go in-field. He set up the third goal, did well and we can see he is a terrific little player who will get used to the Premiership in the next couple of weeks.
It was a bad feeling when Portsmouth scored with their first attack of the game because we were playing well. It is all about discipline and mentality - we are a new team and have to learn.
