I AM REALLY happy with the team for their performance at Manchester City on Saturday. We are getting a better and better mentality because the players know we have to win, we are a big club and we have to go places and live up to expectations.
Blackburn enjoyed a good spell with not losing in five games, we won there and were the better team. At City we played well too and outfought them, but did make it difficult for ourselves by not scoring more. If it had ended as a draw I would have been sick.
It was a great goal by Fredi, at first I thought it was in the side netting. We should have scored earlier and got a couple more, but I am happy. We have now gathered nine points in our last three games and that is terrific.
I have a vision for my team and I want players who can break and run off the ball. We don't have a lot of them, we do have Jermain Defoe and at City we had Brownie - who was the best player on the pitch, along with Michael Carrick.
If you have the initiative you play in their half, if you've got to defend you do that and break. We did well at that.
I don't want to be worried about falling into the bottom part of the table and we won't. We can be confident in the near future and, where it will end, nobody knows.
I have to give compliments to the whole team.
