It was a marvellous evening for us up at Burnley on Tuesday, there was a lot of tension and in the first half an hour we gave away some chances and I don't like it. We talked about the childish mistakes and we saw some of the same thing against Burnley but, in the second half, I thought we played terrific.
The only thing is, you have to keep the ball more if you are leading two or three nil. It is not always neccessary to fight and dig in, you should keep the ball, ensure a good service to the strikers and hopefully score a couple more goals.
My one complaint from the second half is that we should have scored five or six.
There are still a few elements we need in our squad, we don't have real width or wingers. We have terrific central midfield players so we have to play most of the time through the middle, which is nearly impossible.
On Tuesday, Pedro Mendes did well on the right, while Reto Ziegler is a surprise to all of us - just 18 years old and playing all the games at the moment. He did well and I was very pleased with my team in the second half.
In the first half there was a lot of pressure because you never know when you play a Championship side like Burnley. They beat Aston Villa so it was a wonderful feeling after the game when the Spurs fans were happy.
The Carling Cup is the shortest route to Europe for everyone who is not competing or falls short of Champions League football. That is what we want and we are aiming for it.
