IT WAS EXCITING on Saturday. Edgar Davids joined in with everything and he played better than I ever could have imagined. You have to wait and see with that sort of thing because Edgar was injured last week but he did awfully well.
Middlesbrough are a good team, very organised and try to hit you on the break. They had one or two chances with corners and free-kicks in the first half but I thought we did well, we just didn't create enough and our final pass wasn't that good.
Into the second half and we needed something special to break Middlesbrough down. Jermain Defoe is capable of doing just that and his goal underlines why I think he's one of the best up front in England.
Jermain also set up the second goal for Mido and that was just what we needed because Middlesbrough created a couple of chances and Paul Robinson kept us in the game with a couple of terrific saves from free-kicks. That is why he's the number one.
It's very pleasing to have six points now but we shouldn't get carried away. It's only two games but then again, some teams only have one point and we have six, so that's a very good start.
We have to keep our feet on the ground but if we keep everyone on board we can do well.
