You saw the things I wanted from the team against Arsenal in the first half. I wanted to play good football, I wanted to use the strikers and play from the back. It is important otherwise you give the ball away and are hoping for the second ball, which is not enough when you play against Arsenal.
When we came out for the second half we weren't doing the same things. I told the boys before the game that if we lost the ball in midfield they would punish us, but we lost it at the back, not one time but two or three times.
I can't fault them too much because we played some terrific football and I don't think too many teams have scored four goals against them. If you have scored four goals against such a team you must be doing something right.
We played well again after the first 15 minutes of the second half, but couldn't get on top of them like we did in the first.
We have terrific strikers, when you see Defoe score an unbelievable goal like that - you don't see many goals like that and he is a world class player, he really is. I see if every day in training.
I can be proud of them and this is something we can build on as we have a terrific spirit. We will work on things, it is November now and we have excellent players.
Erik Edman has been out for five weeks and he did well. He only played for an hour for the reserves as we made the decision to play him.
