I BELIEVE we can build on the performance against Aston Villa.
Before the game we were a bit worried because we had given away eight goals in three matches but I thought we had a good performance.
Going to Villa Park isn't easy but in the first half we controlled the game and it was even. The second half we played the better for the first ten minutes then from the corner we gave a sloppy goal away again.
On the other hand after that we could have scored, I thought it was a penalty (Samuel on Defoe) sitting on the bench. He was not kicking him but he was stamping on his foot, the referee was closer than we were and he did not give it so that was a bit unfortunate.
First half we didn't give a lot away, only one chance. We played well and our midfield worked well together. In the second half we didn't have a lot of chances, but we had one or two so I was happy about that.
If you could have got a draw here before the game you would accept that, that would have been a good result, and we could have easily had that. But as I said, we can build on it.
