First team coach Marcos Alvarez gives us the inside track as pre-season preparations continue in Spain.
Marcos will give us the rundown on what the lads are up to on the training ground as they prepare for the big one - the Barclays Premier League kick-off at Middlesbrough on August 16.
Days 15/16, July 17/18
"WE CHANGED the distance and pace of the run on Thursday morning and we try to replicate the distances the players will run on the pitch. We then went to the gym.
"Everyone loved the karting on Thursday night and doing something like that is both fun and great for team spirit. It's important to do things like that during a long training camp because it breaks up all the fitness work. We've tried to change things about.
"That was the case on Friday morning when we had another surprise for the squad. We divided the players into three groups and did different exercises - tennis, golf at the driving range and football in a paddle tennis court, it's basically a smaller tennis court.
"Luka Modric, Didier Zokora and Gilberto are also with us now and they started their fitness work. We then all went to the beach for more power work.
"The football session was at a high pace and I know Juande was very happy with that."
