Clive Allen was delighted with the performance of young midfielder Kieran McKenna in our reserves last outing, the 2-1 win against Leicester City.
The Northern Ireland youth international covered every blade of grass at Stevenage Borough, breaking up City attacks and maintaining possession with simple passes.
"Kieran took his opportunity well," said coach Clive. "He's a great athlete, no doubt about that and if anything, sometimes he runs too much.
"I explained that to him afterwards that on the odd occasion he can stand still and create space and by doing so, be supportive to the wide players and be there for play to go through through him.
"He's a bright boy, he wants to learn and what you saw is a 100 per center out there. I'm pleased for him because it was a big night for him, he enjoyed it and showed what he's capable of."
