Mabizela, known as 'Oldjohn', spoke exclusively to www.spurs.co.uk before Saturday's clash at the ABSA Stadium.
"South African football is progressing, for sure," he said. "And we are not just talented at national level, but also at club level.
"Saturday's game gives us the chance to show that. We can show the world we have talented players."
Oldjohn added that we can expect a similar playing style to our own when we take on the South African Premier League champions.
"We have a similar style to Spurs," he added. "We like to pass the ball as well, but I would say it is our own style.
"We know that Spurs are a very big team in England and we are expecting them to give us a good run - but we think the same."
Mbulelo Mabizela, skipper of Orlando Pirates and South Africa, believes Pirates will take the chance on Saturday to show the world how club football is progessing in South Africa.
