Mabizela in reserve

Posted on 26 August 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

OJ Mabizela starts for the reserves tonight as Colin Calderwood's side chase a first win of the season against Fulham at Stevenage Borough, kick-off 7pm.

The South Africa skipper has now been granted his work permit and begins his Spurs career proper with the second string as they seek to build on the two draws achieved in the opening two games.

With the first team squad travelling to Liverpool for Wednesday's game, Colin calls on a young side that he is sure will serve him well.

"We've got the group roughly that was together for the majority of pre-season, plus experience in the back three.

"I'm very hopeful we will do okay tonight and I'm sure we will - irrespective of what side Fulham have out. They have got to go and do themselves justice, get about the pitch, do all the things they know they've got to do and do it with enthusiasm."

Colin is without the services of Jonathan Blondel, Mark Yeates, Ben Bowditch and Nicky Wettner due to injury.

Team: Burch, Mabizela, Perry, Kelly, Ifil, Hughes, Jackson, McKie, Galbraith, Barnard, Slabber. Subs: Eyre, Henry, O'Donoghue, Barnett, Malcolm.
