Italy lined-up in a 3-5-2 system and provided a genuine goal threat against the World Cup winners.
Croatia also impressed as Luka pulled the strings from central midfield in a 3-1 win against the Repubic of Ireland in their opener on Sunday.
Now he'll go up against the likes of Pirlo, Motta and Marchisio in the second round of matches in Group C, kicking-off at 5pm UK time at Poznan's Municipal Stadium.
“It will be another hard game, Italy are playing much better now," said Luka.
"They didn’t do too well at the last World Cup (they finished bottom of their group) but they went through qualification for Euro 2012 easily and showed much quality.
“It’s a different Italy side. They like to play football more, whereas before they were more defensive. Now they play good football and are full of good players, particularly Pirlo, their main man.
“It will be tough, as always. I have to say Croatia has a good record - we’ve never lost against Italy and that’s good to know before we play them. It won’t matter too much on the day but it’s nice to know."
The midfielder spoke pre-tournament about the Italians' more attacking style - underlined by the Azzurri's performance in Sunday's 1-1 draw against reigning champions Spain.
