Luka Modric is confident we can return to winning ways against Blackburn at the Lane on Saturday.

The midfielder spoke of his disappointment after our 1-1 draw against Sunderland on Tuesday night.

We dominated that game for an hour and looked well set for victory when Rafael van der Vaart opened the scoring after 64 minutes.

But Sunderland hit back just three minutes later and that's how it stayed.

"We're playing well in the Champions League and I think we're strong enough to turn things around in the Premier League," said Luka, who forced one of five fine saves from Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon.

"I hope we start doing this from our next game against Blackburn. We have to win this game.

"I think we deserved to win against Sunderland. If we could have held the lead for five or 10 minutes I think we would have probably won the game.

"But we conceded a bad goal straight after and that was frustrating. We fought after that, tried all we could to find another goal but we couldn't do it.

"It didn't happen for us and all we can do is focus on the next game."
