Luka Modric tells Sunday's official programme that we'll give Chelsea the utmost respect - but insists the belief is there to beat the Blues for a third-successive season at the Lane.

The in-form midfielder has overcome a bout of illness to face Chelsea in what is always a cracker in the Barclays Premier League.

Much has been made of Chelsea's form of late - four matches without a win in the league - but Luka insists we have to ignore the form book.

"Okay, sure, they have some problems at the moment but that means nothing,” said Luka this week.

“If we think we will beat them or we are favourites, then it’s the wrong attitude.

"We need to give them massive respect but, at the same time, we believe in our strength and quality and we are all determined to beat them at home for the third time in row.

“We know they are a dangerous side full of great players, unbelievable players.

"From that point of view will need to give them full respect but again, when we get out on the pitch we need to play our game, to fight for every ball, to play with confidence and try to beat them again.

“We are in good form and we fear no-one at home.”
