The centre-back signed with Andy Reid from Nottingham Forest on deadline day in January has been restricted to rehabilitation work on his own as he's slowly overcome the injury.
Our Head of Medical Services Dr Charlotte Cowie revealed that he'd stepped up his running to an hour on Tuesday.
While his happy-go-lucky demeanor has never changed, Michael is feeling positive again. "Obviously since I arrived here it has been a bit of a nightmare with not being able to get out and train," he reasoned at the training ground.
"But over the last week I have been out running and, fingers crossed, in the near future I will be back training.
"I am just getting fit now. I've been out a couple of months and have got to pick up my fitness again. The leg is feeling good and I am looking forward to getting back and training with the lads."
It was pointed out to Michael that he'd kept smiling throughout. "Yes, I was delighted to come here and you have got to keep positive," he added.
Things are looking up for Michael Dawson as he continues his recovery from a shin problem.
