Ossie Ardiles will manage a former Spurs XI when the London Legends Cup kicks off at Fulham’s Craven Cottage on May 29. Teams from Chelsea, Arsenal and Fulham will also take part.

The three-hour Sunday afternoon event will feature three 40-minute 11-a-side games and be kicked off at 3pm by Ossie together with Ricky Villa.

The Spurs side is set to feature the likes of Darren Anderton, Les Ferdinand and Justin Edinburgh with Glenn Hoddle also involved in the tournament’s organisation.

Said Glenn: “I have always felt that playing 90 minutes was a problem to any player who has given up the game professionally.

“The key to this format is being able to have rolling subs and being able to go out there and compete and perform for a short period of time. You know you can be taken off and then you can go back on and play at close to a level you used to be at during your peak.”

The winners medals will be presented by England’s 1966 World Cup winner George Cohen and former Spurs captain Alan Mullery.

Tickets are now available from Fulham’s online ticket office or go to www.football40.com for more information.
