Our three young players on loan at Yeovil Town all got their first taste of FA Cup football at the weekend.

But a day to remember ended in disappointment for the League One side as they were dumped out of the competition at the hands of Blue Square Premier outfit Oxford United.

However, Steven Caulker, Ryan Mason and Jon Obika all put in full shifts for the Glovers at the Kassam Stadium during the 1-0 defeat.

On a brighter note, Jamie O'Hara scored his first goal for Portsmouth, opening the scoring at Ewood Park before Paul Hart's men succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Blackburn Rovers.

Adel Taarabt did taste victory as Queens Park Rangers continued their recent good run of form with a 2-1 away win at Sheffield Wednesday. The midfielder played 88 minutes.

There was also victory in the Championship for Jake Livermore, who came on as a late substitute in Derby County's 2-1 home victory over Coventry City on Friday night.

But Danny Rose and Peterborough United were on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat at Newcastle United in the same division, the midfielder playing a half at St James' Park.
