Three of our young professionals made their Football League debuts at the weekend.
Ryan Mason and Steven Caulker played 90 minutes as Yeovil Town beat Tranmere Rovers in League One while Adam Smith put in a full shift as Wycombe lost 3-2 at Charlton.
As central defender Steven helped keep a clean sheet, forward Ryan made his mark for the Grecians when he was fouled by Aaron Cresswell for a penalty, converted by Gavin Tomlin in the 2-0 win.
Elsewhere in League One, Troy Archibald-Henville, Ben Alnwick and Andros Townsend were all unused substitutes for Exeter, Norwich and Leyton Orient respectively.
Adel Taarabt played 90 minutes as QPR equalised late for a 1-1 draw at home to Blackpool in the Championship.
In League Two, goalkeeper David Button made his debut for Crewe in a 2-1 home defeat by Dagenham & Redbridge.
