Jake Livermore helped Peterborough United to a much-needed win in the Championship on Saturday.

The central midfielder played 90 minutes in a 1-0 win against QPR at London Road. It was Jim Gannon's first game in charge after taking over from Mark Cooper and leaves Posh - beaten 4-0 at the Lane in the FA Cup - nine points adrift of safety.

Kyle Naughton made his debut for Middlesbrough and played 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town.

In League One, Andros Towsnend opened his account for MK Dons with a fine goal in a 3-1 win at Stockport. Andros played a one-two with Aaron Wilbraham, turned onto his left foot and curled into the corner from 16 yards.

Steven Caulker completed another 90 minutes as Yeovil recorded a 4-1 win at Wycombe. Jon Obika came on in the 73rd minute.

In League Two, David Button kept another clean sheet as Shrewsbury stayed in the promotion hunt with a 1-0 win at Macclesfield.

After two substitute appearances, Sam Cox made his first start for Torquay alongside Adam Smith. The pair played right and left-back and both completed 90-minute shifts as the Gulls went down 1-0 at Hereford.

Of our more senior players on loan, Robbie Keane scored his first goal for Celtic in a 4-2 Scottish Cup win at Dunfermline.

Jamie O'Hara played 75 minutes as Portsmouth lost 5-0 at Manchester United in the Premier League, while Alan Hutton made his debut for Sunderland in a 1-1 draw against Wigan.

In Turkey, Giovani played 86 minute of Galatasaray's 0-0 draw at Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig. That was a decent away point against the team currently in third place, not least as leader Fenerbahce were held to a 1-1 draw at home to 13th-place Diyarbakirspor. Fenerbahce top the table by a point after 20 games.
