John Bostock helped Brentford into the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Academy midfielder's corner was headed home by Leon Legge for the only goal of the Bees' second round tie against Walsall. Brentford drew Doncaster at home in the third round.

Staying with the FA Cup, Troy Archibald-Henville came on in the 66th minute as Exeter lost out 4-3 in the second round at MK Dons. Keeper Oscar Jansson was an unused substitute.

Calum Butcher was an unused substitute in Barnet's 2-2 draw against Accrington Stanley while full-back Adam Smith was denied an FA Cup debut when Torquay's game against Stockport was postponed.

In the Premier League, Jamie O'Hara forced a fine save from Manchester United keeper Tomas Kusczczak with the score goalless at Portsmouth but United went on to win 4-1 at Fratton Park.

In the Championship, Adel Taarabt struck the crossbar with a delightful chip in the second half as QPR drew 2-2 against Coventry City at Loftus Road. Adel played 80 minutes.

Kyle Walker played the full 90 minutes as always as Sheffield United beat Bristol City at Ashton Gate while Jake Livermore was a late substitute as Derby beat Reading 2-1 at Pride Park.
