Loan Watch

Ryan Mason got on the scoresheet for Yeovil Town again - but Tuesday wasn't the best of nights for our young players out on loan.

The 18-year-old midfielder came off the bench to score from the penalty spot late on, but it only served as scant consolation for the Glovers as they went down 2-1 at Tranmere Rovers.

Defender Steven Caulker played the full 90 minutes in the match, while striker Jon Obika was also a second half substitute.

Our only player to experience victory on the night was defender Kyle Walker, who played a key role in Sheffield United's convincing 3-0 win over Reading in the Championship.

His run and shot resulted in the Blades' second goal of the night, tapped home by Richard Cresswell.

The other two lads currently plying their trade in the Championship, namely Jake Livermore and Adel Taarabt, both experienced defeats.

Adel truly had a night to forget as Queens Park Rangers were thumped 5-0 at high-flying Nottingham Forest, while Jake is still looking for a first win of his loan spell at bottom club Peterborough United after they suffered their fourth straight defeat at home to Preston North End.

Back in League One, winger Andros Townsend experienced his first loss as an MK Dons player when they were defeated 2-0 at Colchester United.

And at the bottom of League Two, there was little to separate Barnet and Torquay United at Underhill, with Adam Smith playing 90 minutes for the visitors in a 1-1 draw.

Sam Cox came off the bench for Torquay 54 minutes into that game to make his debut for them, and only his second senior appearance.
