Ryan Mason bagged his first league goal for Yeovil on Saturday.

Unfortunately, the striker's excellent free-kick was no more than a consolation as the Grecians lost 2-1 to in-form Colchester.

Ryan, top-scorer for our Academy and Reserves last season, had already been denied by Us keeper Ben Williams when he curled home the free-kick from 25 yards eight minutes from time.

He was joined in the line-up by Spurs team-mates Steve Caulker, who played 90 minutes and Jon Obika, who came off the bench after 64 minutes - all three on loan at Yeovil.

Staying in League One, Troy Archibald-Henville and Ben Alnwick found themselves in opposition as Troy's Exeter took on Ben's Norwich. Both played 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw at St James Park.

Adam Smith played 77 minutes as Wycombe lost 1-0 at home to Leeds while Andros Townsend came on in the 66th minute as Leyton Orient lost 2-1 at home to Oldham.

In the Championship, Adel Taarabt set up QPR's goal for Heidar Helguson in the 43rd minute at Plymouth but was denied a win by an injury time equalsier from Kaspars Gorkss.

Kyle Walker played 90 minutes as Sheffield United beat Watford 2-0 at Bramall Lane.

In League Two, David Button kept a clean sheet as Crewe breezed past Grimsby 4-0 at Blundell Park.
