Sam Cox made his professional debut on Saturday as his loan spell at League Two Cheltenham Town concluded with a 4-0 defeat at Accrington Stanley.

The 19-year-old midfielder has spent the last month at Whaddon Road but had yet to come off the bench before the trip to Lancashire.

But a memorable day for Sam quickly turned sour as Martin Allen's men slumped to a crushing defeat that stretches their winless run to five games.

It was a better afternoon for David Button, who was between the sticks as Crewe Alexandra earned a valuable 3-2 away win at Bradford City, also in League Two.

Jon Obika made his return to league action after representing England at the recent Under-20 World Cup in Egypt, coming off the bench on 58 minutes as Yeovil Town come from two goals down to draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at Huish Park in League One.

But there were defeats for both Andros Townsend and Oscar Jansson on Saturday.

Andros Townsend

Andros played 90 minutes as Leyton Orient lost 1-0 to Colchester United in a derby at Brisbane Road.

And it was a day to forget for Oscar as Huddersfield Town put four past him and Exeter City at the Galpharm Stadium, where Troy Archibald-Henville was an unused substitute for the Grecians.
