Loan Watch

John Bostock marked his Brentford debut with a superb double strike as the Bees drew 2-2 with Millwall in a League One London derby at Griffin Park.

The 17-year-old midfielder joined Andy Scott's men on a one-month deal on Friday and has made an instant impact.

It took John just nine minutes to open his goalscoring account in senior football with a neat turn and finish to put Brentford in front.

And although Millwall hit back after 15 minutes, John restored his side's lead 10 minutes later with a goal direct from a corner (although slightly wind-assisted!).

An almost perfect day for the teenager could have been made even better had the visitors not equalised in the last minute, but it was certainly a day to remember nonetheless for our youngest ever first team player.

Also in League One, Jon Obika played a key role in Yeovil Town's 1-0 win over Southend United at Huish Park.

The striker burst clean through just after the half-hour mark before being brought down by Shrimpers defender Sean Morrison, who was sent off as a result.

And the home side eventually made the man advantage count 15 minutes from time when a corner from the right fell to Obika. He smashed goalwards but the shot deflected off team-mate Dean Bowditch on its way in, and he will certainly claim that one!

Steven Caulker also put in a full shift in that game, with Ryan Mason completing 89 minutes in the victory.

Andros Townsend was brought off the bench seven minutes from time but couldn't help Leyton Orient salvage anything from their trip to Hartlepool, which ended in a 1-0 defeat.

And Sam Cox made his debut for Histon after joining on a month's loan on Friday, completing 67 minutes of a 2-1 defeat at Rushden in the Blue Square Premier.

UNDER-18s GAME OFF

Our FA Premier Academy League match at Coventry City was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on Saturday morning and will be re-arranged for a later date, which we will announce once confirmed.
