Our on-loan midfielder netted the goal of the game, a 25-yard free-kick, to open the scoring in the 33rd minute.
He also had a hand in his side’s third, crossing for Nicky Ajose to find the net, with Swindon’s other goals coming from our former midfielder Massimo Luongo and Dany N’Guessan.
Defender Grant Hall was also in fine form at the back, as Mark Cooper’s men kept a clean sheet against their fellow promotion hopefuls. Ryan Mason again missed out through injury.
Also on target at the weekend was Cristian Ceballos, who put Portuguese side FC Arouca in front with less than 20 minutes on the clock as they played host to Beira-Mar in the League Cup.
Cristian was substituted shortly after his goal, and so could only watch in despair as a penalty from Luis Gustavo and a goal from Luiz Phellype inside the final 10 minutes saw the visitors turn it around to claim a 2-1 win.
The result ensured a final aggregate score of 2-2 after Arouca's 1-0 win in the tie's first leg, with Beira-Mar going on to claim a 5-4 victory in a penalty shootout.
