Aaron Lennon tasted victory with Everton on a weekend of mixed fortunes for our on-loan players.

The winger started for the Toffees as they travelled to West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday, completing 78 minutes of his side’s 2-1 win.

There was no such joy for Alex Pritchard on Friday night, however, as his Brentford side suffered a 3-0 defeat at Middlesbrough in the second leg of their Championship play-off semi-final.

The young midfielder completed the full 90 minutes, with the Bees losing 5-1 on aggregate.

In Italy, Tomislav Gomelt played his first senior game since December, starting for FC Bari in their 3-2 home win over Brescia on Saturday. He was substituted with 15 minutes of the Serie B contest remaining.

In Germany, Lewis Holtby went on as a late substitute for Hamburg as they lost 2-1 at Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
