The young midfielder made his full debut for Town in the Capital Cup win against Bristol City last week and followed up with 70 minutes on his league debut - the first league appearance of his career - in the 1-1 draw against Blackburn at Portman Road.
Up against the 19-year-old was Danny Murphy, now 35, who has over 450 appearances in the Premier Leage under his belt and over 700 in all competitions in a career spanning over 15 years.
"It went well, it was my debut and I enjoyed it a lot," said Mass.
"It was definitely tough against Danny Murphy, but I thought I did okay. I learned a lot from playing against him - you can tell he has all that experience in the bank!
"The game is played so quickly in the Championship, real 100 miles per hour stuff. You have to be quick on the ball. In fact, people say you get more time on the ball in the Premier League.
"It's a real battle and I've had to adapt a little. The manager still wants me to get on the ball as often as possible and get us playing, but I have to do more. I know I have to win the battles first."
Meanwhile, Ryan Fredericks also made his league debut, but this time as a late substitute in Brentford's goalless draw at Bury in League One.
Both 'Mass' and Ryan are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday night - Ipswich travel to Watford, Brentford play host to Yeovil.
