On-loan Dominic Ball made his first appearance in the Scottish Championship for Rangers on Sunday, helping his side to a comfortable 5-1 win at Queen of the South.

Having appeared in two cup competitions for Mark Warburton’s side so far this term, the defender got his first opportunity in the league as he went on as a replacement for injured captain Lee Wallace in the 33rd minute of the game.

And it was he who won the penalty that saw Rangers go 2-0 up on the day.

Fellow loanee Nathan Oduwa was also deployed as a substitute in the 67th minute and played a key role in the build-up to the awarding of a second penalty to his side, which was duly converted as the visitors went 5-0 up before Queen of the South grabbed a late consolation.

On Saturday, left-back Connor Ogilvie completed the full match for Stevenage as they came from a goal down to draw 1-1 at Dagenham & Redbridge in League Two, while midfielder Grant Ward went on as a half-time substitute for Rotherham United against Fulham in the Championship, but was unable to prevent his side from suffering a 3-1 home defeat.
