Bongani Khumalo was part of the Colchester United side that picked up a 3-1 win at home to Barnsley on a busy day of action for our loanees on Monday.

The centre-half completed the full 90 minutes as his side came back from a goal down to collect three precious points in their battle to avoid the drop from League One.

Elsewhere in that division, midfielder Grant Ward was ever-present for Coventry City as they battled out a 0-0 draw at Notts County while, in the Championship, Alex Pritchard played a key role in Brentford’s first goal as they staged a late fightback to draw 2-2 at home to Nottingham Forest.

Alex completed the full match for the Bees, who were 2-0 down with 10 minutes remaining.

In League Two, defender Dominic Ball and forward Shaq Coulthirst both played 90 minutes for their respective clubs – Dominic helping Cambridge United secure a 1-0 win at Northampton Town with Shaq’s York City drawing 0-0 at Oxford United.

On Tuesday evening, Dele Alli won the penalty from which MK Dons grabbed their second goal in a 2-0 home win over Scunthorpe United – the midfielder completing the full match in League One.

Grant Hall was in action for Blackpool, whose relegation from the Championship was confirmed earlier this week, but the defender was in the wrong place at the wrong time as he accidentally deflected the ball into his own net in his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Reading. He was substituted five minutes after half-time.

Emmanuel Sonupe, meanwhile, was an unused substitute for St Mirren in their 5-0 defeat at Motherwell.
