Kyle Walker played his part as Sheffield United won the first Steel City derby of the season on Friday night.

The full-back's long throw led to Ched Evans scoring the second goal as the Blades raced into a 3-0 lead in a thriller at Bramall Lane.

Kyle, signed alongside Kyle Naughton in July but back on loan at the Blades for the season, played the full 90 minutes as his side held on to win 3-2 having led 3-0 at the interval.

Staying in the Championship, Jake Livermore started for Derby and had a chance to open the scoring as the Rams went down 1-0 at Crystal Palace - pictured below.

Played through on goal to the right side of the box, Jake rifled his shot into the near post but was denied by Palace keeper Julian Speroni. Darren Ambrose won it for Palace after 55 minutes and Jake was substituted after 67 minutes.

Jamie O'Hara played 90 minutes as Portsmouth lost 2-0 at Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.

In League One, goalkeeper Oscar Jansson and Troy Archibald-Henville both played 90 minutes as Exeter beat Tranmere 2-1 at St James Park while Steven Caulker and Ryan Mason also played a full shift each as Yeovil suffered a 2-0 loss at Southampton.

Jon Obika was missing for that game - he's with the England Under-20 squad preparing for the U20 World Cup in Egypt and scored in a warm-up match against Australia.

Andros Townsend entered the action in the 59th minute for Orient as the Os lost 2-1 at Stockport.

In League Two, Dean Parrett made his league debut in midfield for Aldershot against David Button's Crewe. He played for 67 minutes as the Shots won 2-1 at Gresty Road. Sam Cox was an unused substitute as Cheltenham drew 1-1 at home against Rotherham.

Goalkeeper Lee Butcher was also on the bench as Grays suffered a 3-0 home loss to Altrincham in the Blue Square Premier.
