Giovani dos Santos endeared himself further to the Ipswich Town faithful by scoring in an East Anglian derby win against Norwich City on Sunday.

The forward was in fine form - his performance described by one journalist as a 'Mexican masterclass' - as Ipswich beat the Canaries 3-2 at Portman Road.

'Gio' set up the first goal for Alan Quinn in the first half before another pass sent Kevin Lisbie clear and the striker was brought down for a penalty that Gio converted. He was eventually substituted after 78 minutes.

All four of our loan players in the Championship were involved in huge games.

Chris Gunter played 90 minutes as Nottingham Forest grabbed a vital win against Coventry to move out of the relegation zone.

At the other end of the table, Adel Taarabt was a 63rd-minute substitute for QPR as Wolves secured promotion to the Premier League with a 1-0 win at Molineux.

Meanwhile, Danny Rose played 59 minutes for Watford as Birmingham stayed in the hunt for automatic promotion with a 1-0 win at Vicarage Road.

Dorian Dervite played 90 minutes for Southend as Leicester City clinched the League One title with a 2-0 win at Roots Hall.

Andros Townsend scored his first league goal as he curled home a free-kick in Yeovil's 3-2 defeat against Hartlepool. Jon Obika also set up the first goal for Yeovil. He played 90 minutes alongside Danny Hutchins while Andros played 86.

David Hutton's fine form at Cheltenham continued as he won a penalty in a 2-1 win at Crewe. He played 90 minutes, Yuri Berchiche played 64.

In League Two, Troy Archibald-Henville played a full shift for Exeter as the Grecians won another key match in their bid for automatic promotion. They scored a late winner at Lincoln to stay second with the top three promoted.

After scoring winning goals in successive games for Slavia Prague, Tomas Pekhart was substituted at half-time in a 1-0 away defeat in the Czech League at Olomouc. However, Slavia remain eight points clear of Sparta Prague.
