Anthony Gardner and Christian Ziege, late withdrawals from the trip to Old Trafford, are struggling to shake off their respective thigh and calf problems.
The likes of Gus Poyet, Steve Carr, Ledley King and Steffen Freund are all improving but will need reserve games before being considered for the first team.
At least there were no further problems after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Manchester United.
"No injuries, touch wood," said Glenn at Old Trafford. "But we thought that after the West Ham game and we then lost Anthony and Christian.
"The major problem we've got is of the injuries we've got, none of those players will be fit within seven days.
"By hook or by crook we've got to keep getting points on the board until we get the players back and that is the challenge for the players and coaching staff. We're up for it but it's an interesting challenge."
Glenn Hoddle has bad news on the injury front - he doesn't expect any of his 13 missing players to return in time for Saturday's visit of Middlesbrough.
