Les targets Saints spark

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Les Ferdinand has kick-started the build up to Sunday’s eagerly-awaited clash against Southampton by admitting: “We need a win.”

The nation’s footballing eyes will focus on the encounter at the Lane — the first time Glenn Hoddle has faced his former club, live on Sky Sports Pay Per View — and Les insists there is no better time to grab that first victory.

“We need to get a win under our belt,” said our vice-captain. “We’re at home and we need to make our home the fortress it was last year and get the right result.”

Les will be available for selection after missing our last two matches at Everton and Blackburn following a knee injury in the opening day draw against Villa.

And the striker agrees that we are worth more than our two-point haul from our first three Premiership games.

“You can say we’re better than that but we haven’t the results to back it up,” he said.

“At the moment we’ve two points from three games and that’s disappointing for all concerned because we wanted to start the season on a high.

“But we’ve three home games now and hopefully we can win those games and that will give us the confidence to go away from home and produce the performances that will get the results.

“Everyone is enjoying the football we’re playing, the players and the supporters.

“If we can keep that going and get the results as well we’ll be heading in the right direction.”
