Les Ferdinand acknowledges that performances so far this season have not matched those of early last term - but will take the results any time.
While the striker hopes that entertainment is soon coupled with positive results, he does not wish to suffer repeats of occasions last season where some superb displays were not always rewarded with full points.
"We'd rather it that way around," said Les of recent Premiership point gathering. "Obviously everybody wants to play good entertaining football and wants the results at the end of it.
"I think last season we played the entertaining football, but we kept coming away saying 'we was a bit unlucky there, we was a bit unlucky there'.
"I'm glad it's gone the other way now, we haven't played as well as I know we can, but we've got the points under our belts."
Les, with two league goals to his name already, adds that a continuation of the winning habit, against Fulham tonight and beyond, will lead to increased confidence and, in turn, improved displays.
"Wins will breed confidence and winning is a good habit to get into. If we can continue what we're doing at the moment and improve on the football it is going to set us in good stead.
"There's never a bad time to be top of the league."
