In-form Les was only handed 25 minutes as a substitute against Ipswich Town on Saturday after minor surgery to drain fluid off his troublesome ankle at the start of last week.
He came through that unscathed and has already proved in training this week that he is ready to start at the new St Mary's Stadium.
Assistant boss John reported: "Les is fine, absolutely fine. He's done extra work today (Christmas Eve) and he's ready for selection.
John also reported that everyone had come through Saturday's disappointing defeat without injury, the only additional problem was Oyvind Leonhardsen, who was suffering from flu and that Goran Bunjevcevic was back in training after his thigh strain.
"Goran is just coming back, training again," said John. "We're nursing him through a little but he's training well and the good news is that he's had no reaction.
"Leo has a bit of the flu and he's the only one to have dropped out of the squad for Southampton."
Stephen Clemence's return from knee surgery has been hit by a groin problem but long-termers Stephen Carr and Gary Doherty are progressing well.
John Gorman has confirmed that Les Ferdinand is fit and ready for selection for our Boxing Day belter at Southampton.
