The striker, now 34, admits an FA Cup Final appearance is the one dream he has yet to achieve. Unfortunately, the former England international will miss Wednesday night’s fourth round clash at Charlton as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
His dream is, for the time being, in his team-mates’ hands, but Ferdinand will be hopeful of being ready for Stockport County in the next round if we manage to progress.
Ferdinand revealed: "It’s the one dream that hasn’t come true yet.
"The rest of it has — playing for England, playing for Spurs, winning the Worthington Cup in a final at Wembley and this is the one thing that would crown it for me, an FA Cup Final appearance.
"I just missed out at Newcastle. They had two finals two years after I left. They’ve done all right, but hopefully this will be club I do it with.
"First of all we have to get over the hurdle of Charlton away from home but everyone now knows what the cherry is at the end of that. Most people would have opted for a home tie against Stockport."

Les Ferdinand would love to slot in the final piece of his professional jigsaw puzzle this season.
