The striker scored with his first touch after coming on as a substitute for the final 20 minutes of Saturday's 2-2 draw in the Premiership opener at Everton.
That took him up to 80 minutes of action this season following five months sidelined with a fractured wrist. He has been able to train fully in that time but knows himself that he needs games.
"I need games," admitted Les. ""My fitness wasn't as bad as we expected it to be at Everton but I'm not trying to fool myself even though I scored a goal.
"There are a few reserve games lined up that I'd like to get involved in and we'll see where I go from there."
Squad: Hirschfeld, S Kelly, Henry, O'Donoghue, Marney, Bowditch, Ricketts, Bortolozzo, Galbraith, Snee, Barnard, Perry, Ferdinand, Hughes, Sutton.
Les Ferdinand will continue his road back to full match fitness when we kick off our FA Premier Reserve League programme at Coventry City tonight (7pm).
