Midfielder 'Leo' impressed as a substitute after replacing the concussed Gus Poyet in the 50th minute of Saturday's win at West Ham.
With Gus sidelined, Leo is now in the frame for a start at Craven Cottage.
"It was nice to play," said the understated Norwegian star. "It hasn't been that often this season so hopefully I can play a bit more. All I can do is my best and hopefully the manager will pick me.
"The team has done very well, is going in the right direction and it's looking good.
"Hopefully I will be part of that. I want to be and all I can do is my best and take my chances when I get them."
Meanwhile, Leo has consigned the memory of our last worthington Cup meeting against Fulham to the dustbin.
That was two years ago when, as holders, we were outplayed and crashed out to a Fulham outfit still in the First Division.
"Yes, we owe them one," said Leo. "They beat us in the cup back then and hopefully we can put a good performance in and get a good result.
"That was a bad time for us. Everyone was really low after that game. It's history now though. It's gone and this is a new game."
Oyvind Leonhardsen knows he has to take his chance when it comes around - that chance might just be in the Worthington Cup against Fulham on Thursday night.
