Leo back in running

Posted on 28 August 2001 - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Oyvind Leonhardsen is targeting a place in the reserve team against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday ahead of an international return at the weekend.
'Leo' has been unavailable for selection since taking a whack on the ankle in the pre-season friendly at Luton in early August. He was due to play the following night against Fiorentina, but was forced to miss out on Bill Nicholson’s big night.
Our waspish Norwegian midfielder has been a frustrated onlooker as the new season began without him but Leo had a big smile on his face after completing his first morning in full training on Friday.
He hopes a successful run-out in Colin Calderwood’s first competitive outing as reserve team boss will prove his fitness and allow him to travel to Poland for Norway’s World Cup qualification match on Saturday, or the home game against Wales on Wednesday.
“Very pleased,” beamed Leo. “Hopefully I am back now. I will definitely be back for the next game after the break, but we have two internationals before that.
“I will hopefully have a reserve game on Tuesday and if everything goes okay I will probably join the Norway team.”<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
