Aaron Lennon is out of England's friendly against Spain on Wednesday night with a stomach bug.

The winger missed last week's Carling Cup semi-final second leg at Arsenal because of sickness but returned to play against Manchester United on Sunday.

Martin Jol said this afternoon: "It's good for Aaron that England have sent him home, he can now recover and hopefully be fit for our game at Sheffield United on Saturday."

Meanwhile, Steve McClaren has named his side to face Spain at Old Trafford and neither Paul Robinson, Michael Dawson or Jermain Defoe feature in the starting line-up.

Instead, Ben Foster starts in goal, Jonathan Woodgate partners Rio Ferdinand in defence and Kieron Dyer is pushed forward to support Peter Crouch in attack.

England team to face Spain: Foster; G Neville, Ferdinand, Woodgate, P Neville; Wright-Phillips, Lampard, Carrick, Gerrard, Dyer; Crouch.
