Aaron Lennon got off the goalscoring mark for the reserves against Watford on Monday evening and insisted he is seeking much more of the same.
The jet-heeled wide boy feels that, given the positions his pace and trickery get him into, his name should be added to the scoresheet on a regular basis.
"I have been trying to work on scoring more goals lately because I don't score as many as I should do," he reasoned after the 4-1 win at Broadhall Way. "It was good for me to get a goal here.
"I get in a lot of good positions and sometimes I look to cross when I should shoot. I've been told to shoot more now so hopefully I can get more goals this season.
"I caught this one quite well but I expected the keeper to save it. I hit it early and sometimes they go in for you."
Aaron was definitely the star turn in our opening reserve encounter of the season and the fans were certainly entertained by the 18-year-old recruit from Leeds United.
"It was a good game and the crowd was great," he added. "Every time I got the ball they were cheering me on and it gives you a buzz when they do that."
