Aaron Lennon has been forced to withdraw from the England Under 21 squad to face France on Friday due to a minor hamstring tear.

Aaron Lennon has been forced to withdraw from the England Under 21 squad to face France on Friday due to a minor hamstring tear.

The speedy winger suffered the injury in training on Thursday and was absent for Monday's Premiership visit to Bolton.

The injury is not expected to be long-term

The 18-year-old is confident of being fit for the West Ham clash on November 20.

Nigel Reo-Coker and Leighton Baines have also pulled out of the squad for the European Championship play-off at the Lane.
